The electromagnetic flowmeter is a meter for measuring the volume flow of the conductive liquid made according to the Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction. The entire set consists of two parts: the sensor and the converter. Electromagnetic flowmeters have become the first choice for flow metering instruments in the water supply and drainage industry, especially for large diameter electromagnetic flowmeters.

Electromagnetic flowmeter selection mainly considers the following factors: medium environment, flow rate, pipe diameter, installation site, environmental conditions, accuracy, etc., and on the basis of analysis and comparison, select the appropriate instrument.

The accuracy and effectiveness of electromagnetic flowmeters depends largely on the sensor installation. How to choose the sensor installation environment:

1) The sensor measuring tube must be filled with fluid in use;

2) There should be no strong vibration in the pipe or ground on which the sensor is installed;

3) Avoid large electric motors, large transformers, etc. nearby to avoid electromagnetic interference;

4) Do not use electrical power supplies (such as variable-frequency power supplies, silicon controlled rectifiers, etc.) that will generate high-order harmonics;

5) Avoid installation in places with corrosive gases or dipping or burying in corrosive liquids or soils;

6) The place where the sensor is grounded alone;

7) Select the appropriate location for installation to avoid air bubbles in the measuring tube;

8) The valve for adjusting the flow rate should be installed downstream of the sensor.

The electromagnetic flowmeter is installed on the bidirectional flow pipe. Before use, the flow direction should be measured first, and the flow direction set inside the instrument should be consistent with the actual flow direction measured, especially for the determination of flow direction during trade settlement.
