Praxair builds special gas technology center in Nanjing

Praxair (China) Investment Co., Ltd. has announced that it will invest in the construction of a modern specialty gas technology center in Nanjing Jiangning Science Park, Jiangsu Province, and plans to complete it in August 2008. The establishment of Special Gas Technology Center will enhance Praxair's technology research and development capabilities and provide Chinese customers with more new application technologies.

The first-phase project of the center includes a special gas laboratory, standard inspection equipment, gas analysis equipment, and high-purity gas cylinder filling facilities, mainly for the domestic petrochemical, automotive, lighting, environmental protection and other industries, laboratories and research centers, providing high quality Products, services, and technical support. The second phase of the Technology Center will be used for the development and preparation of electronic grade gases and mixtures for the semiconductor industry.

Zhou Xilong, president of Praxair China, said that the goal of the Special Gas Technology Center is to enhance Praxair's position in the rapidly developing China's special gas market. The center can not only develop and formulate various types of high-purity gases, standard gases, and special high-purity gases for the electronics industry, but also can provide complex mixed gas products for domestic laboratories and emission monitoring centers.
